Welcome to Starlight Lodge

Starlight Lodge stands as a modest yet charming alpine-style motel nestled in the heart of Glenwood Springs, Colorado. With a solid rating of 3.9, this family-run lodge offers travelers a clean and comfortable retreat just steps away from the vibrant Historic Downtown and key attractions like Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park and the famous Glenwood Hot Springs Pool.

Guests consistently praise the friendly and welcoming staff, especially highlighting Theresa’s warm hospitality and valuable local recommendations. The lodge’s vintage Americana vibe carries a nostalgic appeal, blending an old-motel ambiance with modern necessities such as free Wi-Fi, accessible parking, and air-conditioned rooms. While the décor leans toward the slightly dated, the accommodations remain well-maintained, spotless, and functional, making it an ideal budget option for visitors wanting to explore the area without sacrificing comfort.

Its central location is undeniably a strong point. Situated within walking distance of downtown’s shops, restaurants, and transit options like the free town trolley bus, Starlight Lodge enables convenient access to Glenwood Springs' rich outdoor and cultural experiences. The absence of onsite luxury amenities—such as a pool, restaurant, or fitness center—is compensated by the lodge’s straightforward, no-frills approach and competitive pricing.

However, some visitors note that the room rates may seem steep compared to the motel’s aged interiors and basic facilities. The beds have been described as firm, and while the linens and bathrooms meet cleanliness expectations, there is room for modernization. Despite these critiques, the overall atmosphere is peaceful, bug-free, and family-friendly, fitting well with the smoke-free policy and accessible design.

In sum, Starlight Lodge is best suited for travelers who value a central location and approachable hospitality over luxury. It captures the essence of a classic mountain lodge with earnest service and a welcoming spirit—making it a dependable, budget-conscious choice when visiting Glenwood Springs.

When I use Google maps to find a cheap place to crash after a long drive I'm often dissapointed that the online booking price is vastly different than the in person surprise checkin( you do not want a non refundable ticket to hell if you're looking for the cheapest hotel around). Starlight was the same price. Clean bathroom and bedding, friendly staff. No bugs at all but I visited during the colder months. Carpet was stained looking but no noticeable smells or anything. Very charming atmosphere overall and unexpectedly good (for me) considering other reviews.

Very central, older but quaint hotel. A real drive in Motel Americania feel. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is hard to beat. A stroll over the bridge and your in the town centre. The free town trolley bus circles the town - hotels, spas, main street, main bus stop, train station and out of town shopping areas - it certianly won't be beaten on price. The walk up to Linwood Cemetery is well worth it for the views alone.

Really appreciated the hospitality of Theresa! She gave us great recommendations and is full of information. We aren’t from Colorado so this made us feel very welcome! The rooms are super clean (slightly outdated), comfortable and the price was perfect!

Check in was a breeze, it’s a holiday weekend too! This place is right in the middle of all the activities so you can go anywhere you want to go. The front desk operator, a man was nice. But I would say this place is way too expensive for the quality of the rooms. It reminds me of your average old motel with 3x more the price. Beds are a bit hard, they had those feathered pillows and carpet needs replaced . Definitely stepped back in time with decor. Was plenty of towels and tp so no need to ask for more.
